We post mostly the fun stuff that happens on our travels, but some days, the rain must fall as it is in life. My day was July 10th in Ashland, WI. We decided to go out for an easy bike ride from the RV Park through town on the paved Rails-to-Trails path downtown Ashland and then return on the paved path along Lake Superior.

PANORAMA OF THE OREDOCK MURAL This mural is a “to scale” painting of the 1,800-foot Oredock built-in 1916, and under it are 21 “postcards” of different dock users over the years. This was the largest concrete dock in the world. Several years ago, the ore dock was demolished, leaving only the base structure, which now open for public visitors.

Found a small city-owned RV Park overlooking Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior. Our streak has continued as we got the last site backing up to the lake. Nice!

We had just three-plus weeks to complete our first LONG trip in our Casita travel trailer, which was a tad over seven months old. On this trip, we did pack it in with reservations made for every stop. Needless to say, we no longer travel that way.
